The five awarding bodies under the JCQ umbrella (AQA, CEA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC) have published common regulations for schools, colleges and other organisations which are examination and assessment centres. These regulations will also apply to anyone wishing to take an examination or assessment as a private candidate and would therefore be useful to read and be aware of.

The regulations:

Establish the mutual responsibilities of awarding bodies and assessment centres;

Set out the policies of the awarding bodies in connection with issues such as communication with centres and data protection;
Are re-issued each academic year;

Refer to the national agreements on the conduct of examinations and special arrangements for individuals with access requirements.
